Meet Jamie

Jamie Romeo is a lifelong resident of the Town of Irondequoit, proud mother of Dominic and a proud Democrat. She served at the New York State Assemblywoman representing the 136th District (Brighton, City of Rochester, Irondequoit) in the NYS Legislature until early 2020.

On February 6, 2020, Governor Andrew Cuomo appointed Jamie to fill the vacancy and serve the remainder of the current term of Monroe County Clerk until December 31st, 2020. In his announcement, Governor Cuomo said "Assembly Member Romeo is a true public servant and forceful advocate for Monroe County. I am proud to appoint her Monroe County Clerk and I am confident that she will continue to do a great job working on behalf of county residents."

Jamie has had the honor and privilege of serving this community in numerous capacities; including as the past as MCDC Chairwoman, Chief of Staff in the New York State Senate, and long-time staffer to the Monroe County Legislature.
