Release: The Days of 'Renew Monroe' Are Over!

(Rochester NY) – Monroe County Clerk Jamie Romeo was proud to announce today that residents can now equally support their local DMVs, regardless of how they access DMV services.

Thanks to the leadership of Governor Kathy Hochul, a former County Clerk herself, the (SFY) 2023-2024 State Budget included an updated revenue sharing formula for the first time in nearly 30 years between State DMV and County Clerks. As a result, residents will financially support their local DMV the same, whether they are conducting their business online or in-person.

“The days of ‘Renew Monroe’ are over! Thanks to the collaborative effort of my colleagues in the New York State County Clerk’s Association, this new revenue sharing formula means that residents can conduct DMV business online and keep their money here in Monroe County. We encourage Monroe County residents to enjoy a Traffic Free DMV by going online to do their transactions.

Monroe County Clerk Jamie Romeo continues to serve NYSACC as a co-chair of their Legislative and Pistol Permit Committee. To learn more about DMV transactions you can conduct online and other information about Monroe County DMV’s please visit monroecounty.gov/dmv
