WHAM13: DMV offices reopen with new safety measures in place

Irondequoit, N.Y. - Several DMV locations in Monroe County reopened for a limited number of in-person services Thursday.

At the Irondequoit branch, customers were allowed inside for some in-person transactions for the first time since March.

To enter, customers must make an appointment in advance and undergo screening.

“It was pretty easy, quick,” said Aleasha Reed, a customer Thursday. “Honestly, like it better. Lines aren’t long, good process, everything was clean.”

The Henrietta and Rochester offices are also open, however the location at The Mall at Greece Ridge is still closed due to restrictions on malls related to COVID-19.

Monroe County Clerk Jamie Romeo says she hopes to have answers to questions regarding road tests and learner’s permits soon.
